If you're wondering why you should use WootAlerts.com alerts rather than just twitter, the answer is simple:

  1. WootAlerts are more customizable (see below) and are sent based on your keywords (ie: speakers)
  2. WootAlerts on twitter is going to send you everything, even sold out status updates, which you likely dont really care about

Another Woot Off, the first for v1.2

Today has been pretty crazy and not just because its been a wild woot off day!
Lets start with the all of the woot.com server issues they had today. CRAZYNESS!
Then, Woot.com starts banning API users and removing their API RSS/XML Feed! NUTTS!
About 100 New Seekers of the Woot joined WootAlerts! today! AMAZING!

It was also a little wild to have the first day of WootAlerts v1.2 to run on a massive woot off day. But fun as hell to get all those alerts throughout the day! Today I picked up the iRobot Roomba 4296 Remote Scheduler Robotic Vacuum, as I missed the last time it was on Woot. Im looking forward to seein it in action. Hope everyone enjoyed the new features. If you're not on WootAlerts! you missin da woot!

Greetings seekers of the Woot!

As you may already know, WootAlerts.com has dropped a new and improved Alerting system!
I am personally excited about the new system and the future enhancements I already have layed out for the new system.

So whats so special about the new system you ask?
  • Alerts Configurable by alert address (ie email or text address)
  • HTML or Text base alerts now available (by address)
  • Alerts sent when the item is sold out
  • Get Alerts based on soldout percentage change
  • Choose to receive Woot Off Alerts, or Not!
  • Select from 5 paramaters to include in your alerts!

Are you getting excited yet?

Just Login to your WootAlerts! account, and configure each alert address individually.
By clicking on the Pencil Icon () next to each address you can now select the new options per address.
Here you will find the new options for the selected alert address as follows:


The system is finally out of testing, and ready to unleash on yee wooters. As data begins to flow in on the new system I will continue to spew out minor tweaks and new lil fun features.

Statistical Woot Data, What?

The new WootAlerts! system, v1.2, is in testing and its got my brain thinking about the woot data churning.
